The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zmuda shoots in and bounces Kilpatrick off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Kilpatrick pushes Zmuda off and gets back to his feet.
Kilpatrick clinches with his opponent.
Kilpatrick lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
A nice left hand lands by Kilpatrick.
Zmuda jumps into guard, dragging Kilpatrick to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kilpatrick has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Kilpatrick trying to stand up but can't free himself from Zmuda's guard.
Zmuda is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Kilpatrick has his hands clasped together but Zmuda extends and breaks Kilpatrick's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Zmuda.
