Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Howard Davies (ranked 4318 p4p, 138 weight class) and Mo Mo (ranked 7559 p4p, 213 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Howard Davies!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mo Mo!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Davies sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Mo slips a jab from Davies.

Mo drives through with a takedown into Davies's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Davies pushes Mo off and scrambles back to his feet.

Mo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Davies defends it nicely.
Davies swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Howard Davies has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mo Mo.

Davies lands a big uppercut and Mo crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Mo looks OK. Davies waves Mo back to his feet!

It looks like Mo Mo has been cut.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mo is defended easily by Davies.

Mo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Mo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Davies has managed to free his arm - good work.
Davies wants to improve his position but Mo is controlling well.
Mo is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Davies on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Davies tries to get out of the position.
Davies wants to get back to his feet.

Mo is working for a kimura here but Davies manages to reverse the position and he's now in Mo's guard.
Davies looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Mo throws his legs up looking for a submission but Davies uses it to pass to side control.

Davies decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Davies pushes Mo off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Mo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Davies.

Davies throws a shot from downtown. Mo moves away and avoids it.
Mo feints the counter takedown.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mo shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Davies manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Mo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mo drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Davies dives on top into guard.

Mo looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Davies has picked Mo up and slammed him! Mo can't keep hold of the triangle and Davies manages to pass to side control!

Mo swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Davies cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

The cut man is working on Mo Mo's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Davies lands a big right hand that sends Mo crashing to the mat! Davies stays standing though and waves Mo back to his feet!

That has opened up Mo Mo's cut even more.

Davies has taken the fight to the clinch.

Mo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Davies. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Davies gets to his feet - Mo follows without any prompting.

Davies rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Mo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Davies enables Mo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Davies manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Davies manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mo manages to get himself to full guard.

Davies lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Davies avoids the attempt from Mo to control.
Davies will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Davies scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Mo is squirming around, avoiding Davies's attempts to control the action.

Davies is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
