Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Strike Zombie (ranked 7822 p4p, 207 weight class) and Pedro Guedes (ranked 6897 p4p, 92 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guedes tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Zombie defends well and Guedes ends up having to push Zombie into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Zombie is looking to clinch but Guedes is avoiding it.
Zombie definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Zombie shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Zombie tries to pass to full mount but Guedes defends it.

Guedes manages to escape and get back to his feet!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Zombie is in close to Guedes's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Zombie wants to stand but Guedes is controlling his posture from full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zombie is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Guedes is working an open guard so Zombie takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Zombie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Zombie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Zombie goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Guedes has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Zombie but great work by Guedes.

Zombie stuffs the takedown.
Zombie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Guedes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zombie somewhat.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Zombie fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Zombie closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Guedes's guard.

Guedes kicks Zombie off and gets to his feet.

Guedes manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Guedes wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Zombie has him pressed against the cage.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Zombie fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Zombie lands a head kick. Guedes smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Pedro Guedes has been cut.
Zombie goes for a double leg but Guedes avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Guedes continues to drive forward.
Guedes was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Zombie enables Guedes to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Zombie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Zombie is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Guedes is aware though and is defending well.

Zombie isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Guedes stacks Zombie on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Guedes!

Zombie throws a series of punches but Guedes avoids them all with ease.
Zombie looks for a takedown but Guedes sprawls well.
Zombie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Guedes as he avoids it easily.
Guedes closes the distance and clinches up with Zombie , looking for a takedown. Guedes pushes Zombie against the cage but Zombie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Horrible takedown attempt by Guedes or perhaps it was just good defense by Zombie , which made it look bad.
Zombie appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Guedes fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Zombie sprawls well initially but Guedes persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Zombie is pulling down on Guedes's head to control his posture.
Zombie throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Guedes wants to get up but he can't break Zombie 's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Guedes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Zombie is fending him off so far but Guedes persists. Nope, Zombie circles away and we're back to standing.

Zombie wants to take the fight to the mat but Guedes manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Guedes shoots in and bounces Zombie off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Guedes stands up from Zombie 's guard - Guedes perhaps looking for a knockout.
Zombie stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zombie wants it to stay on the feet.
Zombie misses with a body kick.
Guedes feints a counter leg kick.
Guedes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zombie 's waist but Zombie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Guedes off to one side.
Strike Zombie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pedro Guedes.
Zombie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Guedes tries to avoid it but Zombie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Guedes to the ground. Guedes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Zombie is trying to get an arm triangle but Guedes is defending well.
Zombie has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Guedes wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Zombie .

Zombie looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Zombie cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Zombie connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Strike Zombie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Pedro Guedes is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Poor strikes thrown by Zombie there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
