And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hicks closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Abdi's guard.
Hicks is standing up over Abdi. Abdi looks to escape but Hicks dives into side control.

Hicks stands up and beckons Abdi to his feet.
Hicks dodges the punch combination from Abdi.
Abdi shoots in but no luck this time.
Hicks misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Abdi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hicks as he avoids it easily.
Hicks tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Abdi manages to circle out of the way.

Hicks bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hicks is working to tighten his grip on Abdi's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Abdi has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Hicks is really squeezing tight and eventually Abdi passes out! Hicks breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
