Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bo George (ranked 24121 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zane Mandala (ranked 5198 p4p, 0 weight class). Zane Mandala will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bo George!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zane Mandala!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mandala shoots in and gets a takedown into George's guard.
George avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Mandala wants to stand and escape but instead George has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mandala holds on and takes a little breather.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
George throws a big elbow that misses.
Mandala managing to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mandala manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. George manages to get himself to full guard.

Mandala controls from within his opponent's guard.
Mandala wants to stand but George has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

George could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mandala's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Mandala stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. George swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mandala is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Mandala would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

George looks for a takedown but Mandala sprawls well.
George finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Mandala looks to land a combination but George avoids it well.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from George is defended easily by Mandala.

Mandala fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. George sprawls well initially but Mandala persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mandala tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Mandala wants to work for an arm triangle but George is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mandala takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Let's hope that Mandala has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zane Mandala dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Mandala gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows George to score an easy takedown into full guard.
George throws a big right hand that misses.
Zane Mandala has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mandala is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mandala tries to stand but can't do so whilst George controls his leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Mandala.
Mandala wants to stand up but George has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Mandala is looking to advance position but George won't allow it.
Mandala seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Yet more stalling tactics from Mandala.

George is trying to stand back up but Mandala is controlling him

Mandala thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Mandala looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Mandala. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
George throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Mandala darts in and clinches George up against the cage.

Still in the clinch, Mandala scores with a nice short uppercut.


It looks like Bo George has been cut.
George goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mandala prevents it.
Mandala content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mandala manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Mandala has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics George uses from the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zane Mandala showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Bo George's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


George shoots for a takedown but Mandala saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mandala steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.

Mandala scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee asks Mandala politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Mandala prefers to stall for the moment though.

Mandala tries to stand but George is controlling his head.

George is trying to control Mandala's posture but Mandala avoids it.

Mandala takes a little break here. George wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Mandala wants to stand but George is controlling his arm.
Check out the look on Mandala's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
George is being controlled here.
George takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Mandala looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Mandala remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
George might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

George wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Mandala has ideas of his own. He's got hold of George's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! George is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Mandala!
