Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Isaac Lane (ranked 3365 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vee Tanner (ranked 6454 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Isaac Lane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vee Tanner!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Darius Henderson and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lane looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Lane scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Tanner wants to get back to full guard but Lane has mounted him!
Lane blocks Tanner's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Lane wants to control the pace but Tanner is squirming around nicely.
Tanner is desperately trying to improve his position but Lane has a good base and remains in mount.
Tanner is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tanner tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Tanner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lane. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lane scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Lane is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
A head kick misses from Tanner.

Lane moves into the clinch successfully.
Lane really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Tanner pushes Lane back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Tanner stalling the fight.
Tanner will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Lane up against the cage.
Tanner putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Lane in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Lane is trying to force a seperation but Tanner has the dominant position.
Lane with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Lane stalling in the clinch but Tanner improves position.
Tanner dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.

Lane tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tanner smiles and moves away.
Tanner shoots in but Lane avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tanner tries a head kick but it misses.
Tanner throws a sloppy head kick
and Lane counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Tanner looks winded!
Lane tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Lane tries a low kick but Tanner avoids it.
A head kick misses from Lane.
Tanner pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tanner moves into the clinch successfully.
Tanner lands a right hand that snaps the head of Lane backwards.

Tanner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vee Tanner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lane has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lane bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Tanner's head.

Lane closes the distance and clinches.
Lane is pushing Tanner up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Tanner lands a nice uppercut.

Lane tightens his grip and picks Tanner up, before dumping him to the ground. Tanner manages to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lane content to stall in guard here.
Lane pushing down on Tanner's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lane uses his free foot to push down on Tanner's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Tanner.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Lane is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Tanner can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Lane lands a big elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tanner looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Lane controlling the positon.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Isaac Lane dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Lane defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tanner.
Lane stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lane wants it to stay on the feet.
As Tanner tries to get set, Lane tries to push him back and clinch up but Tanner manages to avoid the attempt.
Horrible takedown attempt by Tanner or perhaps it was just good defense by Lane, which made it look bad.
Isaac Lane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vee Tanner.

Lane closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Tanner did well to prevent Lane getting side control.
Lane has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lane is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lane working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Tanner is breathing heavily.
Lane is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Lane is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tanner can do to turn this around?

Lane with shots to the head and body - Tanner looks very uncomfortable down there.
Lane will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Lane forces the positional change into back control.
Tanner is trying to stand back up.
Lane is landing with strikes. Tanner can't take much more of this.
Lane trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Tanner doesn't escape.

Tanner looking very determined here, making life difficult for Lane.
Lane controlling the position well here. Tanner rolled but Lane kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lane has the hooks in. Tanner is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Lane passes his arm under Tanner's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Tanner taps!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Isaac Lane!
