Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ace Rob (ranked 448 p4p, 55 weight class) and Maxim Jericho (ranked 226 p4p, 29 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ace Rob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Maxim Jericho!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jericho throws the left hand but Rob avoids the punch easily.
Jericho takes one to the side of the head.
Rob ducks under a wild hook from Jericho.
Jericho falls off balance throwing a combination
and Rob counters with a stiff right hand.
Rob walks into a stiff left hand from Jericho.
A combination from Jericho does no damage.
Jericho fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Jericho throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jericho throws a sloppy head kick and Rob moves out of range easily.
Jericho misses with a hook.

Rob closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rob thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rob is looking to take a break and control but Jericho is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Rob throws an elbow but Jericho slips to the side and avoids it well.

Rob tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rob has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Rob in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Jericho is trying to get back to half guard.
Jericho felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Rob wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jericho, who protects the arm well.
Jericho is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Jericho has his hands clasped together around Rob's back. He's all about the action.
Rob prevents Jericho from improving his position.

Rob is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Rob wants to take a breather but Jericho is having none of it.

Rob is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jericho has managed to free his arm - good work.

Rob postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jericho is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rob, into his guard.


Rob had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jericho defends it easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rob bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jericho's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ace Rob dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


A looping hook to the body misses from Jericho. Rob does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rob is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jericho can do to turn this around?

so Rob counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jericho is on top in guard.

Jericho must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Rob looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Jericho slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Rob working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jericho doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jericho manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Rob is trying to control the position but Jericho postures up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rob manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jericho manages to get himself to full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Rob doesn't manage to clinch there - Jericho circles away.
Rob ducks right into an uppercut from Jericho.
Rob fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Rob is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Rob jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Nice straight punches there by Jericho. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Jericho.
Jericho misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rob does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jericho just misses with a punch to the body.
Jericho throws a lazy right hand but Rob sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jericho lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rob circles away quickly and effectively.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Jericho throws out a powerful jab.

Donk. Jericho catches Rob right on the button with a cross.
Rob ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Decent striking displayed by Jericho there.


Rob is rocked!
Jericho gets in close and tags Rob with a short punch that almost sends Rob to the mat! Oh Rob is in big trouble! He turns his back on Jericho, trying to create some distance but Jericho rushes him, striking wildly and Rob goes down! The referee tackles Jericho into the cage to end the fight! Jericho is one violent man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Maxim Jericho!
Maxim Jericho tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
