Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lalo Jimenez (ranked 5185 p4p, 0 weight class) and Javari Jennings (ranked 7502 p4p, 0 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jimenez slips a jab from Jennings.
Jennings has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Jimenez is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jimenez wants to sweep but no luck.
Jennings wants to control from the top but Jimenez keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Jennings is fighting off a takedown attempt but Jimenez is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jennings to the mat. Jennings regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Jimenez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jennings swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jimenez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Lalo Jimenez will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Jennings misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jimenez misses with a takedown attempt - Jennings sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jimenez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jennings looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jimenez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jennings, who protects the arm well.

Jimenez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jennings is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Jennings is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Jimenez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Jimenez here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Jimenez is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Jennings throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jimenez sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jimenez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jennings defends well and Jimenez ends up having to push Jennings into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Jennings.

Jimenez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
