Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lindsay Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pupuki Namasuzuki!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Namasuzuki shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hunter defends it nicely.
Pupuki Namasuzuki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hunter looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Namasuzuki!
Hunter lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Namasuzuki down.
Namasuzuki is looking to reverse the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Namasuzuki takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Namasuzuki struggling a bit here.

Hunter lands some shots froms side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Check out the look on Hunter's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Hunter cracks Namasuzuki with a big right hand but Namasuzuki just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Namasuzuki is looking to reverse the position.
Hunter content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Namasuzuki tries to buck Hunter off but Hunter is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hunter working the ground and pound from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Namasuzuki wants to control but Hunter postures up.
Hunter scoring with punches and elbows.
Hunter lands a decent elbow from side control.

Hunter has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Namasuzuki looks winded!
Hunter misses the jab.
Hunter could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hunter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Namasuzuki manages to avoid it.
Namasuzuki fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hunter avoids it really well and circles away.
Hunter missing with a left hand there. Namasuzuki was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Namasuzuki looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Hunter scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Hunter instigates a clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Hunter fails to land.
Hunter is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Namasuzuki is trying to pull guard but Hunter has him pressed against the cage.
Lindsay Hunter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pupuki Namasuzuki.

Hunter misses with a knee strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Namasuzuki using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Hunter has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Namasuzuki prevents a body shot from Hunter.
Namasuzuki is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hunter to keep the fight standing.
Hunter drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Namasuzuki has Hunter pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hunter manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hunter jumps guard and drags Namasuzuki to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Hunter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Namasuzuki doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Hunter is tightening it up a little... Namasuzuki has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Namasuzuki reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Namasuzuki taps out! Nice BJJ there by Hunter!
