PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Carter (ranked 1551 p4p, 191 weight class) and Zell Dincht (ranked 1715 p4p, 218 weight class). Dincht comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Disturbed - Down With The Sickness kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, John Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Zell Dincht!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter slips under a jab from Dincht.
Left hook, right uppercut from Dincht.
Dincht throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Carter sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Carter has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Pablo's Boxing Academy in the buildup to the fight.
Carter with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dincht to score with a decent uppercut.
Dincht misses with an uppercut.
Carter staying out of range there.
Dincht stuffs the takedown.

and Dincht counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Carter fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Carter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Crunch! Dincht slams his shin into Carter's torso.

Dincht rushes Carter and presses him up against the cage.
Dincht lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Carter backwards.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dincht stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
A nice left hand lands by Dincht.
Carter misses with an elbow strike.
A right hook to the body lands for Dincht.
Carter is breathing heavily.

Dincht working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Carter drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dincht pulls his leg out and moves away.
Dincht thows a body kick. Carter tries to catch it but that hurt him.
The fighters circle momentarily. Dincht darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Dincht feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Carters jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Dincht lands with a thumping leg kick.
Carter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dincht but Dincht pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dincht let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
A jab lands there for Dincht.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dincht. Carter does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dincht slaps away a takedown attempt from Carter, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Dincht counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Nice straight punches there by Dincht. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Dincht.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dincht looks to score with a jab to the body but Carter is just out of range.

Dincht fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Decent striking displayed by Dincht there.
A jab from Dincht finds it's way through Carter's defenses.
Carter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dincht sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carter somewhat.

Dincht has taken the fight to the clinch.
Carter takes a shot to the head.
Dincht throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Carters head.
Carter goes for a takedown in the clinch but Dincht prevents it.
Dincht is pressed up against the cage. Carter has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dincht down to the mat. Dincht avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Carter takes a swing at Dincht's ribcage but misses.
Dincht throws a body punch but Carter moves out of range.
Dincht misses with an uppercut. Carter saw that one coming.
Carter drops down looking for a counter takedown but Dincht sprawls and moves away.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Dincht lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Carter has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Carter and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Carter shoots for a takedown but Dincht saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Carter takes one to the chin there.
Dincht pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Carter changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Carter loads up on a big right hand but Dincht slips the punch.
Carter tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Dincht defends well and Carter ends up having to push Dincht into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
A nice leg kick lands there from Dincht.
Carter takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Dincht has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Carter has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Carter there as he acknowledges the shot.
Nice sprawl there from Dincht as Carter shoots in.
Carter walks into a stiff left hand from Dincht.
Dincht is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Carter had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Carter closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Carter moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Carter slips a jab from Dincht.

Carter fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dincht avoids it really well and circles away.

It seemed like Dincht was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Carter walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Carter moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
No luck for Carter with that takedown attempt.

Dincht gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Dincht lands an uppercut.
A right handed body shot lands from Dincht.
Carter throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Dincht lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Carter backwards.
Carter's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Dincht pushes Carter back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Dincht lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Carter drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dincht pulls his leg out and moves away.
Carter walks into a left hand.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dincht uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Carter.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zell Dincht dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Carter shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dincht as he jumps to the side.
Carter takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Carter.
Dincht is looking to slow Carter down with leg kicks.
Carter looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Dincht closes the distance and pushes Carter back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carter shoots in and gets a takedown into Dincht's guard.

Dincht pulls Carter in close to his closed guard and prevents Carter from doing any damage or advancing position.
Dincht keeping moving, preventing Carter from controlling successfully.
Carter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dincht avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Dincht really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Carter with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Dincht pushes Carter off and gets back to his feet.
Carter keeps the fight on the outside.

Dincht tries to clinch there but Carter circles away.
Carter half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Carter chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Dincht can pounce on him.
Zell Dincht seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dincht gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Carter swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Carter tries a knee to the head but Dincht blocks it.
Carter wants to take the fight to the mat but Dincht manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Carter tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dincht just stands there and leans against the cage.
Dincht prevents a takedown attempt there.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Dincht.
Carter drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dincht gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Dincht creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Oh Carter is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Dincht unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Carter! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Dincht is unloading with more strikes now! Carter drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
