The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrone shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Minaj defends it nicely.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Minaj misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Petrone shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Minaj pinned against the cage. Minaj gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Petrone shoots in looking for a takedown but Minaj manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Petrone's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Tracy Minaj has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nicholas Petrone.
Petrone gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Petrone takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Minaj paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Minaj scores with a hook to the body. Petrone takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Petrone gets the takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Petrone is looking to take a break and control but Minaj is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Minaj knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Petrone on the ground.

Petrone is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Minaj knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Petrone wants to control but Minaj is keeping him busy.
Minaj tries to bench press Petrone off him but Petrone keeps the position.

Petrone tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Petrone has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Minaj tries to buck Petrone off but Petrone is having none of it.
Minaj manages to work his way to half guard, despite Petrone's best efforts.

Minaj has one foot on Petrone's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Minaj throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Petrone has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Petrone throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Minaj's waist but Minaj gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Petrone off to one side.
Petrone shoots in for a takedown but Minaj shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Minaj lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Nicholas Petrone has been cut.
Minaj lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Petrone circles away quickly and effectively.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Petrone is defended easily by Minaj.
Minaj connects with a body shot.
Minaj defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Petrone.

and Minaj counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Petrone is rocked!
Petrone leaves his chin hanging out and Minaj seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Petrone crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
