With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Raffaello Sanzio Da Urbino!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson misses with a combination
and Da Urbino counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Johnson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Da Urbino's half guard.
Da Urbino is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Da Urbino wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Da Urbino is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold.

Johnson is working for a kimura but Da Urbino is defending it quite comfortably.

Johnson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Da Urbino doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johnson.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

We've been informed that Da Urbino has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Johnson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Da Urbino defends it well.

John Johnson dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Da Urbino connects with a solid leg kick.
Da Urbino fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Johnson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Johnson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A telegraphed right hand from Da Urbino misses the target.
Da Urbino lands a nice looking body kick.
Da Urbino lands a leg kick that knocks Johnson off balance momentarily.
Da Urbino connects with a jab.
Johnson shoots for a double leg takedown but Da Urbino sprawls well. He's pushed Johnson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Da Urbino but Da Urbino pushes him off and we're back to square one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Johnson moves into full mount! Da Urbino won't be happy about that!
Johnson wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
