The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Python moves in looking to clinch but Escrima pushes him off.

Python has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Tycoon Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Python is trying hard to land a takedown here. Escrima sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Python tries to clinch up
and Escrima counters with a stiff right hand.
Escrima feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Python's calf.
Escrima leaves Python with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Python throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Escrima's waist but Escrima gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Python off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cyrius Python. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Python throws a sloppy head kick and Escrima moves out of range easily.
Escrima fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Python misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Escrima throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Python on the side of the head.
Escrima throws a leg kick which misses Python's front leg but catches the back leg as Python tries to avoid it.
Escrima works the jab nicely.
Escrima feints and then cracks Python's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Python down.

and Escrima counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Python is rocked!
Python is aggressively charging in as Escrima backs up avoiding any damage. Escrima tosses out a jab and Python runs right into it face first! Python is out cold! Escrima dropped down on all fours and is barking in Python's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

After winning the bout, Miguel Escrima thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
