Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rhymin Slayin (ranked 1766 p4p, 252 weight class) and Matola Machava (ranked 2245 p4p, 310 weight class). Machava has chosen Mozambique National Anthem as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machava throws a right and a left that both miss.
Slayin misses with a hook. Machava ducked under it nicely.
Slayin throws a shot from downtown. Machava moves away and avoids it.
Slayin moves out of range of the strikes.
Slayin loads up on a big right hand but Machava slips the punch.
Machava throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

and Slayin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Machava connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Slayin momentarily.
Slayin misses with a straight right.
Machava avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Machava misses with a low kick.
Slayin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Machava lands with a good body shot.
Slayin swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Machava.

and Slayin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Matola Machava seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Machava throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Machava falls off balance throwing a combination
and Slayin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Machava looks to land a body kick but Slayin moved away.
Machava feints and then cracks Slayin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Slayin down.

and Machava makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Machava looks to score with a jab to the body but Slayin is just out of range.
Slayin lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Nice defenses there by Machava.
The crowd cheers as Slayin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Machava doesn't seem phased though.

Machava takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Slayin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Machava seems to have recovered his senses.
Machava stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Slayin has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Machava.

Slayin is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Slayin throws a shot from downtown. Machava moves away and avoids it.

Machava throws a body shot but no joy.
Slayin throws a half hearted mid kick.
Machava connects with a nice looking jab.
Machava lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Slayin at a distance.
Slayin moves forwards but Machava connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Machava thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Slayin if he has to take too many more of those.
Machava swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A looping hook to the body misses from Machava. Slayin does a little dance to reset his feet.
Slayin closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Good leg kick by Machava there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

and Slayin counters with a crisp right hand that drops Machava! Slayin lets Machava back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Machava is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Slayin.
Machava blocks a head kick by Slayin.
Slayin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Machava was well out of range. Poor timing from Slayin.
Slayin cracks Machava on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Machava falls backwards against the ropes. Slayin follows up with more strikes that drop Machava to his knees. Slayin keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Machava! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rhymin Slayin!
Rhymin Slayin tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
