Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cezare Borgia (ranked 6363 p4p, 502 weight class) and Ino Suzuki (ranked 25080 p4p, 566 weight class). Cezare Borgia has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cezare Borgia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ino Suzuki!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suzuki looks to clinch

and Borgia counters with a single leg into guard. Suzuki didn't expect that.

Borgia seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Suzuki for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Suzuki manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Suzuki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Cezare Borgia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ino Suzuki.

Borgia content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Borgia knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Suzuki on the ground.
Borgia not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Borgia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Suzuki swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Borgia's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Borgia's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Suzuki throws a poor cross that misses

and Borgia counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Borgia continues to stall.

Borgia takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Borgia is stinking the place up with his stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Borgia fails with a takedown attempt.
Suzuki leaves Borgia with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Suzuki shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Borgia pinned against the cage. Borgia gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Suzuki.
Suzuki misses with a few strikes there.
Borgia looks for a takedown but Suzuki sprawls well.

Suzuki gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Borgia connects with a couple of short punches.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Borgia has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

This is a sustained period of stalling by Borgia.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cezare Borgia dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Borgia shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Suzuki napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Borgia tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Borgia is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Suzuki will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Suzuki is trying to control Borgia's posture but Borgia avoids it.

Borgia is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Suzuki can do to turn this around?

Borgia is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Suzuki's shoulder. That is not cool.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Suzuki doesn't manage to clinch there - Borgia circles away.

Borgia looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Borgia uses his free foot to push down on Suzuki's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Suzuki.

Suzuki is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Borgia takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Borgia lands with a hammerfist to the side of Suzuki's head.

Borgia really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Suzuki.

Cezare Borgia is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
