Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jessie James (ranked 1935 p4p, 255 weight class) and Kill Monger (ranked 1838 p4p, 242 weight class). James comes to the cage accompanied by Raining Blood - Slayer. Jessie James has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jessie James!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kill Monger!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James throws a looping overhand right but Monger ducks down to avoid it.
Monger looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? James is fending him off so far but Monger persists. Nope, James circles away and we're back to standing.
James misses with a looping right.
Monger throws a jab when James was well out of range.
We've been told by James's head coaches at Relentless Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Monger cracks James with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Monger shoots in and bounces James off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
James keeping moving, preventing Monger from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monger is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James is looking to stand up but Monger isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Monger throws a sloppy head kick and James moves out of range easily.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Monger lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and James has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from James and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

James throws out a loose jab but Monger uses good head movement to avoid it.

Jessie James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
James throws a lazy right hand but Monger sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Nice straight punches there by Monger. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Monger.
No luck for Monger with that takedown attempt.
A telegraphed right hand from James misses the target.
Monger goes for a double leg but James avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as James continues to drive forward.
James swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Jessie James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kill Monger.
Monger shoots in for a double leg but James sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
James throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Monger throws out a leg kick but James moves out of range and Monger only half commits.
Kill Monger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Monger tries to clinch but James is having none of it.
James throws a jab when Monger was well out of range.

Monger needs to keep his hands up - James had a free shot at his head there.


It looks like Kill Monger has been cut.
James on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Monger. Monger obviously looking to wear him down.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Monger tries to land knees in the clinch but James avoids the damage to the body.

Monger pulls guard.
James trying to control the position from guard on top but Monger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Monger is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Monger not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Monger looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Monger has control of James's left arm, preventing James from doing any damage.
James slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Monger is trying to hold James in close to prevent damage but James has managed to pass into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kill Monger will probably get the nod.

Monger tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. James just stands there and leans against the cage.

James is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

James fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Monger is out of range.
Monger moves out of range as James strikes.

James jabs Monger to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Monger tries to score a power double leg takedown but James sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Monger somewhat.
Jessie James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kill Monger.

Monger drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
James is looking to get back to his feet here but Monger is keeping cool and he's managed to take James's back.

Monger looking to break James's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. James remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Monger will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

I really don't envy James right now.
Will Monger go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

James refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of James's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
