The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cash closes the distance and clinches up with Carlos, looking for a takedown. Cash pushes Carlos against the cage but Carlos circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Cash throws a body punch but Carlos moves out of range.
Cash lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Newton Carlos has been cut.

Cash has taken the fight to the clinch.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Cash counters with a single leg into guard. Carlos didn't expect that.

Carlos shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Carlos was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Newton Carlos overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cash is trying to escape the mount.
Carlos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Carlos pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Cash's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Cash is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Carlos has hold of Cash's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Cash manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Carlos is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Carlos!
