PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between DeMarcus Ridley (ranked 4148 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nuke Laloosh (ranked 2693 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Nuke Laloosh was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DeMarcus Ridley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 35 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nuke Laloosh!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ridley moves forwards but Laloosh connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Ridley gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ridley is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Laloosh has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ridley creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Laloosh sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
You can see the frustration on Laloosh's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Laloosh regains half guard.

Ridley is looking for a kimura but Laloosh is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ridley to get the leverage.
Ridley missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Laloosh slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ridley is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Laloosh is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Laloosh has escaped and now he's on top!

Laloosh is working Ridley over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Ridley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Laloosh on the ground.

Laloosh missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Laloosh drops back looking for a leg! Ridley is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ridley manages to kick Laloosh off! Laloosh jumps back into Ridley's guard.
Laloosh trying to control the position from guard on top but Ridley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Laloosh drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Laloosh jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Ridley can't keep his opponent in guard - Laloosh advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Laloosh scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Laloosh takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Laloosh is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ridley is just riding it out for now. Laloosh eventually gives up the hold.

Laloosh seems to be looking for submissions.

Laloosh is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ridley has managed to free his arm - good work.

Laloosh is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Laloosh is working for a kimura but Ridley is defending it quite comfortably.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Laloosh is working for a submission of some sort.

Laloosh is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ridley sees it coming and defends easily.
Still in half guard, Laloosh seems content to control.
Laloosh working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.


Ridley is rocked!
Laloosh throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Laloosh moves into full mount! Ridley won't be happy about that!
Ridley is breathing heavily.

Laloosh working for a submission but Ridley is keeping him at bay.
Laloosh lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Oh Ridley is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Laloosh misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Ridley seems to have got his legs back now.

Laloosh with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Laloosh with a couple of short strikes.
Laloosh takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nuke Laloosh dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Laloosh dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Laloosh has Ridley up against the cage in a clinch.

Laloosh escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A lazy left from Laloosh finds it's target.
Laloosh lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Ridley falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Nuke Laloosh!
Nuke Laloosh seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
