Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alejandro Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andy Warlock!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Warlock pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Warlock throws a sloppy head kick and Diaz moves out of range easily.
Diaz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Diaz shoots in but Warlock avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Both fighters circling a little - Warlock finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Diaz is breathing heavily.
Warlock scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Alejandro Diaz has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A combination from Warlock does no damage.

Warlock clinches up with Diaz and pushes him back against the cage.
Diaz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Warlock walks away with a smile on his face. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Warlock tries to clinch up but Diaz circles away and keeps his distance.
Warlock looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Warlock feints and as Diaz raises his hands in defense, Warlock changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Diaz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Warlock gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Warlock wants to stand but Diaz is controlling his posture from full guard.
Warlock stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diaz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Warlock throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Diaz works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Diaz looking for a guillotine here but Warlock defends easily.

Diaz keeping moving, preventing Warlock from controlling successfully.

Warlock stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Warlock throws a head kick but Diaz moves out of range.
Diaz avoids the head kick by Warlock.
Warlock misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A swing and a miss from Warlock.
Diaz tries for a takedown but Warlock circles away easily

and Warlock counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Diaz wants to improve his position but Warlock is controlling well.

Diaz looking for submissions off his back.
Diaz tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Diaz looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Diaz is staying active underneath Warlock, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Warlock seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Diaz is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Warlock pulls his head out easily.
Warlock wants to stand up but Diaz is controlling the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Diaz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Warlock throws a push kick but Diaz slaps the foot to one side.
Diaz fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Warlock misses with a head kick.
Warlock misses with a jab, cross combination.
Diaz slips a jab and a cross from Warlock.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Warlock is looking to clinch.
Warlock misses with the combination.
Warlock is breathing heavily.
Warlock tries to clinch there but Diaz circles away.

Diaz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Diaz fails with the takedown.
Warlock attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Warlock swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Diaz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Diaz keeping full guard, as Warlock tries to pass.

Diaz manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Diaz has hold of Warlock's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Warlock manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Warlock's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Diaz with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Warlock is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Warlock is looking to get to half guard.

Diaz has control of Warlock's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Warlock regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Warlock tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Diaz is working for a guillotine from mount but Warlock frees his head quite easily.

Diaz moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Warlock has worked his arm free - good work by Warlock!

Diaz looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Warlock is trying to buck Diaz off.

Diaz has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Warlock is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Diaz yanks on the arm and Warlock is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Diaz.
