Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Santara Amarillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikael Koskinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Santara Amarillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikael Koskinen!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amarillo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Amarillo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Amarillo slips under a jab.
Amarillo misses with a looping right.
Amarillo lands a body shot.

Koskinen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Amarillo is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Koskinen blocks the strikes from Amarillo.
Koskinen tries to advance to mount but Amarillo instead regains half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Amarillo is looking for a sweep. Koskinen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Amarillo misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Amarillo looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Amarillo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Amarillo takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Amarillo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Koskinen with a lazy takedown attempt
and Amarillo counters with a three punch combo that has Koskinen backing up. Koskinen nods at Amarillo to acknowledge the strikes.
Koskinen dips to his left and cracks Amarillo with an uppercut!
Koskinen takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Koskinen takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Koskinen staying out of range there.
Amarillo looks to score with a jab to the body but Koskinen is just out of range.
A solid leg kick lands there for Amarillo.
Koskinen looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!
A head kick misses from Amarillo.
Amarillo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Amarillo misses with a wild body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A telegraphed right hand from Amarillo misses the target.
Amarillo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Amarillo gets caught flat footed, as Koskinen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Amarillo throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Amarillo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Koskinen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Koskinen working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Amarillo's head.

Koskinen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Koskinen forces his way into half guard.
Amarillo landing a few short strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Koskinen trying to mount his opponent but Amarillo defends it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Amarillo tries to roll over but Koskinen keeps him under control.
Koskinen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Amarillo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Amarillo makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Amarillo.
Amarillo wants to improve his position but instead Koskinen has moved into half guard.
Koskinen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Amarillo keeps working.

Koskinen decides to stand and escape the position.
A head kick misses from Amarillo.
Koskinen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Amarillo.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Koskinen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Amarillo.

Koskinen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Amarillo wants to improve his position but Koskinen is controlling well.

Koskinen is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Amarillo has managed to free his arm - good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Amarillo lands a couple of sideways elbows.
Amarillo is pressing down on Koskinen's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Amarillo doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Amarillo is working an open guard so Koskinen takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Koskinen avoids the head kick by Amarillo.
Amarillo moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Amarillo throws a nice inside leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Santara Amarillo will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Amarillo looks to throw the jab but Koskinen is out of range.
Koskinen fails with a takedown attempt.

Santara Amarillo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mikael Koskinen.
Koskinen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Koskinen takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Amarillo lands a nice looking body shot.
Amarillo throws a head kick that looked like it stung.


It looks like Mikael Koskinen has been cut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Amarillo lands a nice hook to Koskinen's body. Koskinen takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Amarillo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Koskinen fails with the takedown
and Amarillo counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Amarillo just misses with a punch to the body.
Amarillo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Koskinen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Santara Amarillo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koskinen moves away from the strike by Amarillo.
Koskinen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Amarillo.
Amarillo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Amarillo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Koskinen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Amarillo is proving hard to escape from.
Koskinen won't allow Amarillo to sweep him here.

Koskinen has gone for a leg lock! Amarillo slips out almost immediately though and dives into Koskinen's guard.

Amarillo working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Koskinen's head.

Koskinen throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Amarillo escapes and throws Koskinen's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Amarillo is working Koskinen over with some ground and pound from side control.
Koskinen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Koskinen wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Koskinen is looking to reverse the position.
Koskinen takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Amarillo working the body and head with strikes.
Amarillo landing a few strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Koskinen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Amarillo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Amarillo is chipping away with strikes.
Amarillo working the ground and pound.

Koskinen is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Amarillo's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Amarillo! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Koskinen has tapped! This one is allllll over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Santara Amarillo!
