PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Peter Kropotkin (ranked 1060 p4p, 53 weight class) and Jaro Lalla (ranked 1145 p4p, 61 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Kropotkin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Jaro Lalla!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Kropotkin. No joy for Lalla on that attempt.
Kropotkin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lalla goes for a double leg but Kropotkin avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kropotkin continues to drive forward.
Kropotkin half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Lalla fails to land the takedown.
Kropotkin appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Peter Kropotkin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaro Lalla.
Kropotkin leaves Lalla with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kropotkin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lalla misses with a takedown attempt - Kropotkin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Lalla tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Kropotkin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lalla is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Kropotkin is trying to get an arm triangle but Lalla is defending well.
Lalla has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Kropotkin moves into full mount!

Kropotkin throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Lalla because Kropotkin loaded up on that one.

Kropotkin goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Lalla turns into him and now he's in Kropotkin's guard.

Kropotkin looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Lalla has picked Kropotkin up and slammed him! Kropotkin can't keep hold of the triangle and Lalla manages to pass to side control!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kropotkin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lalla pulls his head out easily.

Kropotkin tries to roll over but Lalla keeps him under control.
Kropotkin is looking to control Lalla's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kropotkin avoid being mounted?

Lalla is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Kropotkin is concentrating on defense, preventing Lalla from advancing position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kropotkin is pressing down on Lalla's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Kropotkin looking for a sweep. Not yet Kropotkin, not yet.
Kropotkin pulls Lalla in to control the position.

Lalla avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kropotkin wants to sweep here but Lalla controlling him for the moment.
Kropotkin throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kropotkin controls Lalla momentarily but Lalla frees himself.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Kropotkin dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kropotkin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lalla was well out of range. Poor timing from Kropotkin.
Kropotkin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kropotkin wants it to stay on the feet.

Lalla throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kropotkin was covering up waiting for the punch and Lalla finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Lalla drops back looking for a leg! Kropotkin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kropotkin manages to kick Lalla off! Lalla jumps back into Kropotkin's guard.
Kropotkin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kropotkin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lalla has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kropotkin has managed to get both his arms back between Lalla's legs - danger averted.

Kropotkin wants to control from the top but Lalla keeps moving.
Kropotkin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lalla swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kropotkin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lalla dives on top into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lalla pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kropotkin is keeping the position for now.

Kropotkin is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Lalla has his hands clasped together but Kropotkin extends and breaks Lalla's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Kropotkin.
