Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Israel Adesilva (ranked 6954 p4p, 630 weight class) and Jake Ruth (ranked 24686 p4p, 654 weight class). Adesilva comes to the cage accompanied by VengaBoys - The VengaBus Is Coming. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Israel Adesilva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jake Ruth!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adesilva throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ruth sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Adesilva blocks a head kick by Ruth.
Adesilva dodges the punch combination from Ruth.
As Ruth tries to get set, Adesilva tries to push him back and clinch up but Ruth manages to avoid the attempt.
Adesilva misses with the combination.
Ruth tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ruth fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Adesilva misses with a series of wild punches.
A countering left hand to the body from Ruth misses.

Ruth closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Adesilva is trying to stall.
Adesilva misses with the head strike.

Ruth drags the fight down to the ground.

Ruth is looking for a triangle but Adesilva pushes his legs off easily.
Adesilva has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ruth seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Ruth manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Adesilva manages to get himself to full guard.

Ruth seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Adesilva is looking to stand up but Ruth isn't so interested in that idea.

Ruth is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Ruth gets to his feet. Adesilva looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Adesilva tries to clinch up but Ruth circles away and keeps his distance.
Adesilva jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ruth drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Adesilva defends it well.

Ruth clinches with his opponent.
Ruth is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Adesilva throws a punch but it's blocked by Ruth.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ruth has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Ruth managing to block the knees to the body from Adesilva.
A short left from Adesilva.
Ruth creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Ruth ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ruth no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Ruth is pulling down on Adesilva's head to control his posture.

Adesilva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ruth has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Adesilva has managed to get both his arms back between Ruth's legs - danger averted.
Adesilva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ruth on the ground.
Ruth is pulling down on Adesilva's head. It's preventing any offense from Adesilva, at least for the moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ruth has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Adesilva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Ruth dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Adesilva throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Adesilva fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ruth avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ruth closes the distance and clinches up with Adesilva, looking for a takedown. Ruth pushes Adesilva against the cage but Adesilva circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Adesilva was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Adesilva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The crowd cheers as Adesilva lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ruth doesn't seem phased though.


It looks like Jake Ruth has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ruth dives in and grabs Adesilva's left leg, looking for a takedown. Adesilva pushes down on Ruth's head and hops out.
Ruth looks for the body kick but Adesilva saw that one coming.
Adesilva stuffs the takedown.
It looked like Adesilva wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Israel Adesilva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Ruth.
Ruth avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ruth.
Ruth shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A quick step to the side and Adesilva tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
and Adesilva counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Ruth! He's just covering up as Adesilva starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Israel Adesilva!
A less than humble Israel Adesilva misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
