Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waid moves into the clinch.
Rusu looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Waid's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Waid is looking to land body kicks.
Waid closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Rusu defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Waid.
Waid clinches up with Rusu and pushes him back against the cage.

Waid has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Waid is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

ALex Waid overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Waid drops back looking for a leg! Rusu is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rusu manages to kick Waid off! Waid jumps back into Rusu's guard.
Waid arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Rusu's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
