Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Maxim Gorgy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dimitri Makarov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gorgy comes to the cage accompanied by Nostalgia. Dimitri Makarov has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Maxim Gorgy's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makarov shoots in looking for a takedown. Gorgy tries to sprawl out of it but Makarov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gorgy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Gorgy counters with a nice double leg into side control. Makarov won't be happy with that.

Makarov rushes Gorgy and presses him up against the cage.

You can see the frustration on Makarov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Gorgy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Makarov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Makarov manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gorgy's best efforts.
Makarov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gorgy stalling away here and it's allowed Makarov to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Makarov wants to stand up but Gorgy is controlling him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gorgy is looking to clinch but Makarov is avoiding it.

Gorgy ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gorgy no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Makarov wants to stand but Gorgy has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Makarov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Makarov lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Gorgy hold on?!
