Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Amin Khan!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Eddie Farnsworth and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan misses with a double jab.

Jonhson pushes Khan up against the cage in a clinch.

Jonhson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Jonhson gets caught flat footed, as Khan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jonhson is working an open guard so Khan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Khan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jonhson's half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jonhson has Khan pulled in close to control his posture.
Jonhson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jonhson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Khan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Khan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Khan is in close to Jonhson's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Jonhson has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Khan has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Khan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Khan shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jonhson napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Jonhson throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jonhson misses with a wild combination.
Khan feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jonhsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Jonhson has his feet on Khan's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Jonhson is breathing heavily.
Jonhson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Khan but Khan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Khan steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Jonhson.

Jonhson tries to pull guard but Khan holds him up against the cage and eventually Jonhson drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Todd Jonhson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jonhson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Khan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Khan wants the takedown. Jonhson is fighting it off but Khan persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Jonhson's guard against the cage.

Jonhson manages to escape and get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Khan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Jonhson tries to sprawl but Khan drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Jonhson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Khan can do to turn this around?

Jonhson makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Jonhson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Jonhson doesn't manage to clinch there - Khan circles away.

Khan shoots in and gets a takedown into Jonhson's guard.

Jonhson pushes Khan off and scrambles back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jonhson clinches.

Jonhson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jonhson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Khan counters with a solid body kick.

Khan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jonhson tries to buck Khan off but Khan is having none of it.

Khan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Khan misses with the ground and pound.
Todd Jonhson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Khan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Khan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jonhson is not content to let Khan control the position.
Khan looking to control but instead Jonhson has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Jonhson trying to hold on to Khan's head to control him but Khan postures up.
Jonhson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Khan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Khan's back!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here.
Jonhson is not going to allow Khan to sit and survive in this position.
Jonhson has the hooks in. Khan is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Khan looking very determined here, making life difficult for Jonhson.
Khan is trying to break free.

Khan is trying to escape but he's just digging himself into more trouble. Jonhson manages to sink in the hooks and gets a rear naked choke to end the fight in impressive fashion.
