Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ed Erickson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Saifulla Rakhmonov!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Erickson stuffs the takedown attempt from Rakhmonov. Rakhmonov gets slowly back to his feet.
Rakhmonov misses with a takedown attempt - Erickson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
No luck for Erickson with that takedown attempt.

Rakhmonov gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Erickson controlling the action here for a moment.

Rakhmonov has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Erickson uses from the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rakhmonov lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Rakhmonov passes Erickson's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Rakhmonov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Rakhmonov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Erickson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Erickson tries to get out of the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Erickson is looking to improve his position.
Rakhmonov not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Rakhmonov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Rakhmonov is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Rakhmonov has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Rakhmonov has hold of Erickson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Erickson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Rakhmonov is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Rakhmonov throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Rakhmonov stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Rakhmonov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Erickson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rakhmonov swats away the attempt to clinch by Erickson.
Erickson shoots in but Rakhmonov avoids the takedown attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Erickson doesn't manage to clinch there - Rakhmonov circles away.

Erickson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Erickson wants it to stay on the feet.
Ed Erickson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saifulla Rakhmonov.

Erickson forces Rakhmonov back against the cage and clinches.

Rakhmonov steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Erickson.
Rakhmonov wants to clinch.
Erickson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rakhmonov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Erickson swivels and escapes.
Erickson is looking for a counter combo.
Rakhmonov tries to clinch up.

Rakhmonov tries to keep at a distance but Erickson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Rakhmonov is defending well against a takedown attempt.
A right handed body shot lands from Rakhmonov.
Erickson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rakhmonov to keep the fight standing.
Erickson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Erickson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rakhmonov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Erickson circles away quickly and effectively.
Erickson is looking to clinch.
Rakhmonov feints the counter takedown.
Rakhmonov dives in for a single leg takedown but Erickson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Rakhmonov lands a head kick. Erickson smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Rakhmonov is breathing heavily.

Rakhmonov rushes Erickson and presses him up against the cage.
Rakhmonov misses with a body punch.

Erickson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rakhmonov shoots in for a takedown but Erickson shows good takedown defense.
Erickson lands a head kick!
Rakhmonov tries for a takedown but Erickson circles away easily
letting Erickson counter with a right hand.
Rakhmonov fails in his attempt to clinch.

Erickson clinches up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Erickson stalling in the clinch.
Rakhmonov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Erickson walks away with a smile on his face. Rakhmonov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Erickson moves to clinch but Rakhmonov breaks away
and Rakhmonov counters with a left and a right that stings Erickson.

Erickson lands a big head kick that sends Rakhmonov tumbling to the mat! Erickson takes a step backwards and waves Rakhmonov back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Rakhmonov is rocked!


It looks like Saifulla Rakhmonov has been cut.

Erickson gets a clinch.
Rakhmonov is still on wobbly legs! Can Erickson finish him?
Erickson dips a shoulder and cracks Rakhmonov with a mighty uppercut! Rakhmonov falls back against the cage and Erickson unloads with a barrage of strikes! Rakhmonov is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Erickson screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ed Erickson!
