Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bat Drew (ranked 24980 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luca Watson (ranked 5596 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bat Drew !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luca Watson!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Chad Campbell and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drew is looking to clinch.
Watson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Drew is fending him off so far but Watson persists. Nope, Drew circles away and we're back to standing.

Watson gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Watson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Watson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Drew .

Watson moves into range and clinches up with Drew .
Drew wants to get back to striking at distance but Watson won't allow it.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Drew just misses with a elbow thrown towards Watson's brow.
Drew definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Drew pulls Watson into guard.
Drew wants to sweep here but Watson controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Watson tries to free his leg and advance position but Drew is retaining full guard.
Watson trying to control the position from guard on top but Drew is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Drew is trying to keep Watson in close.
Watson won't allow Drew to sweep him here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Drew escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Watson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Watson lands a couple of decent looking shots.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Watson tries to free his leg and advance position but Drew is retaining full guard.
Watson wants to control from the top but Drew keeps moving.
Watson looking to sit in guard and control but Drew gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Watson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Watson is trying to hold Drew in close to prevent damage but Drew has managed to pass into half guard.
Drew missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Watson wants to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Drew not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Drew postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Watson to stand up.
Drew doesn't manage to clinch there - Watson circles away.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Watson.
Drew is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Watson off and has taken his back!
Watson prevents Drew from getting a body triangle.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Watson just trying to survive but Drew is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Watson is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Drew is staying active.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Watson is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Drew gets his way!
Watson is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A lull in the action here.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Watson covering up well under a series of strikes from Drew .
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bat Drew dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Drew lands an overhand right.

Watson moves into the clinch successfully.
Drew tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Watson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Watson lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Watson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Watson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Drew is trying to break the clinch but Watson is controlling him.
Drew is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Drew is pressed up against the cage. Watson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Drew down to the mat. Drew avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Watson gets the takedown into side control.
Watson wants to control for a moment but Drew uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Watson missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Watson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Drew with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Drew works his way to full guard. Good work.
Watson being controlled here momentarily.

Drew is really struggling to control Watson but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Watson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Drew . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Drew has his foot on Watson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Watson works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Drew is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Drew manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Watson manages to get himself to full guard.

Drew is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Watson can do to turn this around?
Drew stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Watson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Watson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Drew trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Watson is trying to control the position here. Drew has hold of a guillotine from the top though... oh, that looks naaaaasty, will Watson tap? Yes he will! The fight is all over! Drew jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Bat Drew !
