Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oswaldo Jarvis (ranked 23407 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bred Ast (ranked 6322 p4p, 0 weight class). Bred Ast will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Oswaldo Jarvis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bred Ast!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jarvis takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Ast lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Ast drives through and clinches with Jarvis against the cage.
Ast jumps guard but Jarvis stands there with Ast around his waist. Ast gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ast keeps control of Jarvis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Ast throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jarvis blocks it with crossed arms.
Jarvis tries to land a knee to the head but Ast blocks with his arms.

Jarvis has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ast regains guard immediately.
Ast controls Jarvis momentarily but Jarvis frees himself.
Jarvis trying to stand up but can't free himself from Ast's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ast is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
