Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Canuto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saddam Hussain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hussain comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Dabke Huwara kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bruno Canuto!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Saddam Hussain!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hussain tries to bum rush Canuto with a series of wild strikes but Canuto uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hussain cracks Canuto with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Canuto is looking to clinch but Hussain is avoiding it.
Hussain connects with a jab.
Hussain getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Canuto closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hussain wants to get back to full guard.
Hussain is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Hussain looking for submissions off his back.

Canuto is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Canuto is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hussain doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Canuto.

Hussain is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Canuto pulls his head out easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hussain is defending against the submission attempts here by Canuto.

Canuto is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hussain is just riding it out for now. Canuto eventually gives up the hold.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hussain looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Hussain tries to keep at a distance but Canuto has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hussain prevents the takedown attempt.
Hussain fails to pull guard.
Canuto jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hussain walks away with a smile on his face. Canuto gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Canuto.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruno Canuto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Canuto is breathing heavily.

It looks like Bruno Canuto has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hussain fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Canuto looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hussain throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hussain jabs at Canuto's body.
Hussain throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Hussain digs a good hook to Canuto's body.
Canuto takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Hussain connects with a looping right hand.
Hussain throws a right and a left that Canuto avoids nicely.
A combination from Hussain does no damage.
Canuto with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hussain to score with a decent uppercut.
Hussain fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Hussain throws a right and a left that Canuto avoids nicely.
Hussain is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Canuto rather than just go for the knockout.
Hussain scores with a hook to the body. Canuto takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Canuto walks straight into a right hand from Hussain - that's dropped him! Hussain jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Canuto from any more punishment! Canuto complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Saddam Hussain!
Saddam Hussain is the new bantamweight champion!
