Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nick Mullen (ranked 4195 p4p, 211 weight class) and Oliver Winston Jr (ranked 1550 p4p, 86 weight class). Winston Jr has chosen Phenomenal as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Nick Mullen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Mullen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oliver Winston Jr!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winston Jr fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mullen avoids it really well and circles away.
Mullen leaves Winston Jr with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
We've been informed that Winston Jr has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Winston Jr looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nick Mullen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oliver Winston Jr.
Mullen uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Winston Jr has time to react.

Winston Jr is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mullen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Winston Jr thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Mullen tries to bench press Winston Jr off him but Winston Jr keeps the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Winston Jr wants to control but Mullen is keeping him busy.

Winston Jr looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Winston Jr remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Mullen throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Winston Jr counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Winston Jr has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Winston Jr closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Winston Jr not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Winston Jr is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mullen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Winston Jr.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Winston Jr is looking to advance position but Mullen won't allow it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Winston Jr is continuing to stall.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Winston Jr's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Winston Jr takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Mullen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nick Mullen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Mullen gets tackled into the cage by Winston Jr. Winston Jr maintains the clinch.

Mullen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nick Mullen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mullen misses with an uppercut

and Winston Jr decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mullen's guard.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mullen.

Horrible takedown attempt by Winston Jr or perhaps it was just good defense by Mullen, which made it look bad.
Mullen appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Oliver Winston Jr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mullen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mullen clobbers Winston Jr with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


Winston Jr is rocked!
Mullen catches Winston Jr with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Winston Jr forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
