Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Saifulla Rakhmonov (ranked 6588 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyong Li (ranked 4530 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Kyong Li enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Saifulla Rakhmonov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kyong Li!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li fails with an attempt to clinch.
A shot to the body from Li misses

and Rakhmonov counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rakhmonov.

Li pulls guard effortlessly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Li is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rakhmonov defends well.

Li is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Li working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rakhmonov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rakhmonov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rakhmonov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Rakhmonov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Li has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rakhmonov has managed to get both his arms back between Li's legs - danger averted.
Rakhmonov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Li goes for a double leg but Rakhmonov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rakhmonov continues to drive forward.

Kyong Li seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rakhmonov shoots in for a double leg but Li sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Li will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Rakhmonov stuffs the takedown attempt from Li. Li gets slowly back to his feet.

Rakhmonov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Li tries to avoid it but Rakhmonov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Li to the ground. Li escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Rakhmonov has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
