Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ed Erickson (ranked 3937 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitaly Ragozin (ranked 6928 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ed Erickson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vitaly Ragozin!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Erickson catches Ragozin with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ragozin is defended easily by Erickson.
Erickson appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Erickson tries to close the distance and clinch but Ragozin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Ragozin scores with a takedown into Erickson's guard.
Erickson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Erickson tries to get out of the position.

Erickson is looking for a triangle here but Ragozin uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Ragozin gets to mount! Erickson was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ragozin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Ragozin wants to control the pace but Erickson is squirming around nicely.

Ragozin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Erickson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ragozin.

Ragozin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Erickson looks like he's trying to stand up.
Erickson is staying active underneath Ragozin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Ragozin is taking a breather. Erickson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Erickson flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Erickson throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Ragozin is looking to stall here but Erickson recovers full guard.

Erickson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ragozin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ragozin wants to stand but Erickson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Erickson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ragozin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ragozin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ragozin tries to stand but Erickson is controlling from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Ragozin moves into range and clinches up with Erickson.
Ragozin is trying to break free.
Erickson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Erickson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Erickson circles away from the clinch attempt
and Erickson counters with a one-two to the body.
Erickson shoots in but Ragozin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Erickson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Erickson wants to clinch up but Ragozin keeps it at a distance.

Erickson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ragozin defends it nicely.

Ragozin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Erickson sprawls well initially but Ragozin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Ragozin seems content to control.
Erickson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Ragozin is looking for a kimura here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ragozin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Erickson keeps working.

Erickson tries to kick Ragozin off but Ragozin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Ragozin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Erickson tries to roll over but Ragozin keeps him under control.
Erickson is looking to escape.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Ragozin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Erickson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ragozin has Erickson in his guard.

Erickson stands and throws Ragozin's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Ragozin is trying to buck Erickson off.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ragozin is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vitaly Ragozin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Erickson lands with a kick to the temple. Ragozin shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Erickson rushes Ragozin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Ragozin is trying to break the clinch but Erickson has him pressed against the cage.
Erickson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ragozin fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Ragozin counters with a three punch combo that has Erickson backing up. Erickson nods at Ragozin to acknowledge the strikes.
Erickson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ragozin's waist but Ragozin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Erickson off to one side.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ed Erickson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ragozin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Erickson as he jumps to the side.

Ragozin distracts Erickson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Ragozin's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Ragozin lands a couple of elbows.
Erickson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ragozin manages to get himself to full guard.

Ragozin is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Erickson has his hands clasped together but Ragozin extends and breaks Erickson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Ragozin.
