Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Edvard Grieg (ranked 1437 p4p, 173 weight class) and Eric Draven (ranked 1116 p4p, 143 weight class). Draven has chosen For Heavy Metal we will die! as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eric Draven!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Draven connects with a looping right hand.

Grieg fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Draven sprawls well initially but Grieg persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Draven manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Grieg slips a jab from Draven.
Draven uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Grieg.
Draven misses with an uppercut.
Grieg swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Grieg tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Draven paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Grieg is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Draven to keep the fight standing.

Grieg manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Draven manages to get himself to full guard.

Draven fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Grieg.

Draven fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Grieg manages to avoid it.
Grieg swings for the body but Draven moves out of range.
Draven moves into range and connects with a jab.
Nice body punch from Draven.
Grieg is looking to wear down Draven with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Grieg takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Draven has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Grieg throws a low kick but it's checked well by Draven.

Draven's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Draven duly obliges.
Eric Draven seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Draven feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Grieg sprawling to the canvas! Grieg rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Draven finish him?!

Grieg is rocked!

Eric Draven showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Draven does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Grieg appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Grieg finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Draven's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Grieg falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

A very excited looking Eric Draven rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
