Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buck Vaughan (ranked 23837 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frens Overgaauw (ranked 5192 p4p, 0 weight class). Overgaauw has chosen Forever Restless as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Buck Vaughan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frens Overgaauw!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vaughan gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Vaughan manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Overgaauw pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Vaughan gets caught flat footed, as Overgaauw shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Overgaauw seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Let's hope that Overgaauw has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Overgaauw postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Vaughan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Overgaauw, into his guard.

Overgaauw is trying to hold Vaughan in close to prevent damage but Vaughan has managed to pass into half guard.
Overgaauw works his way to full guard. Good work.

Overgaauw looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Vaughan has picked Overgaauw up and slammed him! Overgaauw can't keep hold of the triangle and Vaughan manages to pass to side control!
Vaughan throws an elbow but Overgaauw slips to the side and avoids it well.
Overgaauw tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Vaughan presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Overgaauw keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Overgaauw wants to hold on but Vaughan pushes him away.
Vaughan looking to control and managing it successfully.
Overgaauw tries to lock up and control but Vaughan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Vaughan breaks from Overgaauw's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Overgaauw is in a horrible position here. Vaughan smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Overgaauw is desperately trying to improve his position but Vaughan has a good base and remains in mount.

Vaughan prevents Overgaauw from getting the reversal.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Overgaauw drives through with a takedown into Vaughan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Vaughan pulls Overgaauw in close to his closed guard and prevents Overgaauw from doing any damage or advancing position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vaughan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

No joy there for Overgaauw, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Overgaauw shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Vaughan is trying to defend but Overgaauw finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Vaughan has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Overgaauw is on him like a limpet, forcing Vaughan back against the cage.

Overgaauw works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Vaughan is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Overgaauw wants to stand and escape but instead Vaughan has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.


Vaughan gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Overgaauw gets tackled into the cage by Vaughan. Vaughan maintains the clinch.
Vaughan is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Overgaauw turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Overgaauw manages to end up in side control.
Overgaauw is breathing heavily.

Who's going to make the next move?
Vaughan regains half guard there - taking advantage of Overgaauw's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Overgaauw seems to be working for a kimura but Vaughan defends the submission attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Overgaauw is trying to control the action in half guard but Vaughan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Vaughan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Overgaauw can do to turn this around?
Overgaauw lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vaughan circles away quickly and effectively.

Vaughan scores with a nice hook to the head.

A frustrated look appears on Vaughan's face as he tries to break the clinch.

That was a close second round but I would say that Buck Vaughan will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Overgaauw dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Overgaauw throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Vaughan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Overgaauw is in Vaughan's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Vaughan manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Vaughan is trying to push Overgaauw away but Overgaauw has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Vaughan tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Vaughan tries to break free but Overgaauw pushes him back against the cage.
Vaughan is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Vaughan tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Come on Vaughan - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Vaughan seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Overgaauw's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Overgaauw has clasped his hands together around Vaughan's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Overgaauw tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Buck Vaughan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Overgaauw sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Vaughan is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Overgaauw content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Vaughan regains half guard there - taking advantage of Overgaauw's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Overgaauw is looking to advance position but Vaughan won't allow it.

Overgaauw stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Vaughan to get to his feet.

Overgaauw misses with a body shot.

Overgaauw shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Vaughan manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Vaughan can't break the clinch.
Vaughan jumps guard but Overgaauw stands there with Vaughan around his waist. Vaughan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Vaughan tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Overgaauw's elbow.

Overgaauw ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Overgaauw no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vaughan cracks Overgaauw with a solid left hand.
Vaughan stands up over Overgaauw, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Overgaauw manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Overgaauw drives through with a takedown into guard.
Overgaauw wants to control from the top but Vaughan keeps moving.
Overgaauw looking to sit in guard and control but Vaughan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Frens Overgaauw.
I think Vaughan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
