Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stig Jahr (ranked 1739 p4p, 243 weight class) and Sol Fitzsimmons (ranked 1632 p4p, 231 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitzsimmons tries to clinch up but Jahr circles away and keeps his distance.
Jahr tries for a takedown but Fitzsimmons circles away easily
and Fitzsimmons counters with a left and a right that stings Jahr.
Jahr avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Fitzsimmons misses with a low kick.
Jahr shoots in looking for a takedown but Fitzsimmons manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jahr's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A slow jab from Jahr misses its intended target.

Fitzsimmons drops Jahr with a left right combo! Fitzsimmons follows him down to the ground into side control.

It looks like Stig Jahr has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jahr regains half guard.
Jahr is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Fitzsimmons's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Fitzsimmons's back!
Jahr lands punches and elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fitzsimmons covering up well under a barage of strikes.
Jahr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fitzsimmons takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Fitzsimmons wants to escape the position.

Fitzsimmons looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Jahr missing with punches from the back.
Jahr has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Jahr is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Jahr gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Jahr gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Jahr apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Jahr misses with a body shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Jahr misses the target.
Jahr misses with a hook. Fitzsimmons ducked under it nicely.
Jahr walks into a left hand.

Jahr looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Jahr working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Fitzsimmons's head.
Fitzsimmons manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jahr manages to get himself to full guard.

Jahr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jahr is looking for a triangle but Fitzsimmons pushes his legs off easily.

Fitzsimmons gets to his feet. Jahr looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Sol Fitzsimmons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fitzsimmons misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fitzsimmons jabs Jahr right on the nose. Jahr blinks but takes it well.
Fitzsimmons lands a jab to Jahr's midsection.
Fitzsimmons throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jahr stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Jahr tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fitzsimmons swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stig Jahr. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fitzsimmons lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
The crowd cheers as Fitzsimmons lands an impressive looking overhand right. Jahr doesn't seem phased though.
Jahr dives in and grabs Fitzsimmons's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fitzsimmons pushes down on Jahr's head and hops out.
It seemed like Fitzsimmons was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Fitzsimmons connects with a high kick.
Fitzsimmons uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Jahr is rocked!
Fitzsimmons sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Jahr's defenses. It connects perfectly with Jahr's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
