Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Chris Dean and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans gets the takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Evans has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Evans is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in McGee's half guard.
Evans winds up and cracks McGee with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

and McGee counters with a stiff right hand.

McGee avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Evans fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McGee, pushing him back against the cage.
McGee's coach down at Cozad MMA Sydney was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on McGee's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Evans escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Evans counters with a nice double leg into side control. McGee won't be happy with that.

Evans decides to stand up, so the ref orders McGee to his feet.
Evans looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Evans shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Evans showed some decent athleticism there.
Evans has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

It looked like Evans was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
McGee feints and as Evans raises his hands in defense, McGee changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Evans manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Evans tries to throw a body punch but McGee avoids it by throwing Evans back against the cage.
Evans pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Evans really is a fat lump.
Evans shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. McGee manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Evans drops back looking for a leg! McGee is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McGee manages to kick Evans off! Evans jumps back into McGee's guard.
Evans is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Evans lands a couple of elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Evans throws out a loose jab but McGee uses good head movement to avoid it.
McGee lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Everette Evans has been cut.

McGee is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
As McGee looks to move away, Evans throws a big counter combo but McGee just gets out of the way.
