Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kileki Kawike (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hok Chook Homaychonk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kawike comes to the cage accompanied by Ms. Fat Booty - Mos Def. Homaychonk has chosen The Inspired Warrior as his entrance music. Hok Chook Homaychonk will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hok Chook Homaychonk!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Homaychonk throws a sloppy head kick and Kawike moves out of range easily.
Homaychonk fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kawike blocks a jab.
Homaychonk doesn't manage to clinch there - Kawike circles away.
Homaychonk tries to clinch there but Kawike circles away.
Homaychonk moves in looking to clinch but Kawike pushes him off.
Kawike moves out of range as Homaychonk strikes.
Kawike will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Homaychonk fails with an attempt to clinch.
Homaychonk thows a body shot but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Homaychonk tries to keep at a distance but Kawike has taken the fight into the clinch.

It looks like Kileki Kawike has been cut.
Kawike tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Homaychonk smiles and moves away.
Kawike tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Kawike counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Kawike stands up over Homaychonk, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Homaychonk is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kawike is controlling him.

Homaychonk pushes Kawike off and scrambles back to his feet.

and Kawike counters with a three punch combo that has Homaychonk backing up. Homaychonk nods at Kawike to acknowledge the strikes.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Homaychonk is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kawike is controlling him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kawike wants to control from the top but Homaychonk keeps moving.
Kawike stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Homaychonk swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kawike wants to control from the top but Homaychonk keeps moving.
Kawike throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Homaychonk works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Homaychonk throws a big shot that misses.
Kawike circles away from the clinch attempt

and Kawike holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Homaychonk misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Homaychonk cracks Kawike with a nice body shot.

Homaychonk breaks the clinch.
Kawike lands a nice looking body kick.
Hok Chook Homaychonk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Kawike counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Homaychonk!

Kawike is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Homaychonk is surviving well by controlling Kawike's body position as best he can.

Kawike wants to control but instead Homaychonk manages to regain half guard.
Kawike tries to pass the half guard into mount. Homaychonk knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Kawike is thwarting Homaychonk's attempts to control the position.

Kawike moves to take his opponent's back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Homaychonk is keeping busy.
Kawike is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Kawike gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Kawike gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Kawike apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Kawike shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kawike was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kawike is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Homaychonk has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Homaychonk!

Kawike is looking for a triangle but Homaychonk pushes his legs off easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kawike not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Kawike is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kileki Kawike overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Homaychonk closes the distance looking to clinch

and Kawike counters with a takedown into side control.

Kawike wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Homaychonk, who protects the arm well.
Homaychonk is not content to let Kawike control the position.

Kawike is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Homaychonk is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Kawike is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Homaychonk knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kawike thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kawike is looking to take a break and control but Homaychonk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kawike throwing strikes but Homaychonk manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Kawike tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Homaychonk tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Kawike manages to work his way to half guard, despite Homaychonk's best efforts.
Kawike is looking for a sweep. Homaychonk is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kawike is working hard here to advance position.

Kawike manages to get to full guard.

Kawike has his foot on Homaychonk's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Homaychonk works his way back into a safe position though.
Kawike tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kawike throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Homaychonk stands up out of Kawike's guard for a moment - Kawike manages to land a nice upkick.

Kawike has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Homaychonk is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kawike.
Homaychonk tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Kileki Kawike is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kawike wants to control but Homaychonk postures up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kileki Kawike showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kawike, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
