PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rain Man (ranked 5111 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Bush (ranked 5261 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man shoots in but Bush avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Man shoots for a double leg takedown but Bush sprawls well. He's pushed Man's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bush wants to lay and pray for a moment but Man keeps working.

Bush is keen to just control but Man is a slippery customer.
Man tries to kick Bush off but Bush keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Man digs a right hand into Bush's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Bush's gas tank.

Bush can't find room to land a body shot as Man controls the action.
Bush misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Bush escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Man fails with the takedown
and Bush counters with a stiff right hand.
Man shoots in looking for a takedown but Bush manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Man's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Man shoots in looking for a takedown. Bush tries to sprawl out of it but Man keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bush manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A nice side step and Bush releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Man tries to circle away but Bush has him pinned against the cage.

Man rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bush moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Rain Man is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Bush moves into the clinch successfully.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Bush has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Man after a bit of a struggle.

Bush is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Man rather than just go for the knockout.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

George Bush seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Bush leaves Man with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

George Bush is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

George Bush comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bush has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
