And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dean shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Young throwing short punches from the bottom.
Dean cracks Young with a solid left hand.

Dean postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Dean throws an elbow that misses. Young uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dean's guard. Nice move by Young!

Dean pulls Young in close to prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dean's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Young seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Dean shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Young napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Young takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Young throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Young wants to get back to his feet but Dean drags him back down.
