Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Faria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faria misses with a two punch combination.
Rua looks for a takedown but Faria sprawls well.
A left and a right from Faria both land. Nice combination.

Faria moves into range and clinches up with Rua.

Rua is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rua shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Faria pinned against the cage. Faria gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Faria tries to clinch up but Rua circles away and keeps his distance.
Rua on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Faria. Faria obviously looking to wear him down.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Rua shoots in looking for a takedown. Faria tries to sprawl out of it but Rua keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Faria manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Rua shoots in for a double leg but Faria sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Rua drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rua jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rua stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Faria swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rua with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Rua drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Faria manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rua has Faria in his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Faria shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Rua counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Rua thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Faria avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Rua stands up and waves to Faria to follow him.

and Faria counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Faria tries to clinch but Rua is having none of it.
Faria throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rua shoots for a double leg takedown but Faria sprawls well. He's pushed Rua's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Faria closes the distance but Rua moves to the side

and Rua counters with a shoot takedown. Faria fights it but they end up in guard.

Rua is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Faria is trying to escape and Rua transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Faria is forced to tap! Nice work there by Rua! Very nice indeed!
