Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Donny Jones (ranked 23904 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fuzzynuts McGee (ranked 5134 p4p, 0 weight class). Donny Jones has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGee changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but McGee manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

McGee clinches up with Jones and pushes him back against the cage.

McGee successfully pulls guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Jones works over McGee with some ground and pound from guard.
Jones throws a strike but McGee rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

McGee is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
It looks like McGee might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that McGee has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

McGee looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Jones manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. McGee keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

McGee bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Fuzzynuts McGee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
McGee shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jones counters with a lovely shot to the body.
McGee shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jones goes for a double leg but McGee avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as McGee continues to drive forward.

Jones is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. McGee is defending well for now.
