The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patrick will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
No joy there for Savage , who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Let's hope that Patrick has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Patrick manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Patrick is on top in guard.

Patrick uses his free foot to push down on Savage 's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Savage .
Patrick sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
