PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Dallas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dallas kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ace of Spades. Dan Dallas could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to John Doe's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Doe!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Doe.
Dallas looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Doe drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dallas working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Doe has passed into half guard!

I looks like Doe might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Doe decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Well, if Doe is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Doe has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Dallas is trying to keep an underhook but Doe manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Doe is looking to take a break and control but Dallas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Dallas is looking for a sweep. Doe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Doe seems to be working for a kimura but Dallas defends the submission attempt.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dallas gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Doe counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dallas's guard now.
Dallas manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Doe is desperately trying to improve his position but Dallas has a good base and remains in mount.
Dallas lands a big shot there that rocks Doe but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Doe dominated that round.

Doe changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dallas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Dallas is trying to get back to half guard.
Doe moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Doe decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dallas to his feet.
Doe lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

and Doe counters with a low kick, right behind Dallas 's knee.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Doe. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Doe preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Dallas tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Dallas stalling away here and it's allowed Doe to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Dallas trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Dallas drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Doe manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dallas has Doe in his guard.
Dallas wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Doe manages to pass to side control.
Dallas is not content to let Doe control the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Doe seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Dallas looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Dallas won't allow Doe to pass to mount.
Dallas flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Dallas is refusing to be controlled, as Doe sits in half guard.

Dallas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Doe swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dallas has his foot on Doe's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Doe works his way back into a safe position though.
John Doe has got the better of the ground game so far.
Doe keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dallas's head.

Doe decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dallas, up you get!

John Doe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Doe has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
