The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettis misses with a few strikes there.

McGregor is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Pettis had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Anthony Pettis will probably get the nod.

That's time! Pettis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

McGregor fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pettis on the side of the head.

McGregor cracks Pettis with a left hand that drops him to the canvas, up against the ropes! Can Pettis get back up in time? 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... he's on one knee... 8, 9... he's up! 'Walk towards me' says the referee. Pettis looks steady enough to continue so we're going to continue!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McGregor's corner calls for a 1-2. McGregor obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Oh Pettis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McGregor cracks Pettis with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Pettis is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Pettis is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9,10! He's out! Pettis could not beat the count!
