Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lugini Mazzoni (ranked 3378 p4p, 0 weight class) and Graeme Sharp (ranked 5026 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sharp lands a leg kick that knocks Mazzoni off balance momentarily.

Mazzoni clinches.
Sharp misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Mazzoni is working for takedown but Sharp is calmly controlling the position for now.
Sharp trying to control the position but instead, Mazzoni has worked for underhooks and has pushed Sharp into the cage.

Mazzoni manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sharp manages to get himself to full guard.

Mazzoni works over Sharp with some ground and pound from guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mazzoni takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Mazzoni slips a nice elbow through Sharp's hands, connecting with Sharp's forehead.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mazzoni is working for a submission of some sort.
Well, if Mazzoni is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Sharp wants to control but Mazzoni passes into side.
Mazzoni controlling the position from side mount.

Mazzoni connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Sharp some visible discomfort.
Mazzoni just content to control the position.

Sharp is looking to reverse the position.
Mazzoni cracks Sharp with a big right hand but Sharp just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Sharp is working to avoid the ground and pound but Mazzoni connects with a decent elbow.
Sharp trying to remain calm as Mazzoni controls from the top position.
Mazzoni lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Sharp down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sharp wants to control but Mazzoni postures up.

Mazzoni looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mazzoni creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Sharp lands a high kick!

and Mazzoni counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sharp won't be happy with that.

Mazzoni tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mazzoni has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mazzoni is staying tight to Sharp's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Sharp takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Mazzoni thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
A control attempt from Sharp but he's now mounted!

Mazzoni has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mazzoni working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Sharp looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Mazzoni! Submission of the night perhaps?
