Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Oscar Larraza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shane Mitchell!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Bruno Lombardi and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Larraza connects with a body shot that sends Mitchell's belly button to the back.
Mitchell swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Larraza counters with a takedown into side control.
Mitchell is looking to get back to his feet here but Larraza is keeping cool and he's managed to take Mitchell's back.
Larraza has good solid back control here.
Mitchell is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Mitchell wants to control his opponent's hands but Larraza gets his hands free.

Mitchell is trying to get back to his feet but Larraza has full control of the position and if anything, Mitchell has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Mitchell is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Larraza gets his way!

Larraza is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Mitchell defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Mitchell shoots in for a takedown but Larraza shows good takedown defense.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Mitchell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Larraza but Larraza pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mitchell shoots for a double leg takedown but Larraza sprawls well. He's pushed Mitchell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mitchell wants to clinch.
Larraza seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Mitchell shoots in looking for a takedown. Larraza tries to sprawl out of it but Mitchell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Larraza manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Larraza shoots in but Mitchell avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Larraza shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mitchell manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Larraza accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Mitchell tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Larraza swivels and escapes.

Mitchell has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Larraza is proving hard to escape from.
