The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hines is working for takedown but Jackson is calmly controlling the position for now.
Jackson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hines.

Jackson has picked Hines up - he's going for a ride! Jackson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Hines is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jackson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hines keeps working.
Jackson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hines knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Jackson thows a huge punch but Hines dodges it nicely.
Jackson is nestled in close to Hines, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Jackson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hines manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Jackson is looking to take a break and control but Hines is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Jackson swings around for an armbar but Hines sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jackson's guard.
Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hines is one step ahead there.
Hines trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hines is stalling in the full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hines lands a couple of elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Red Jackson dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hines tries to land a body kick

and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Hines misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Jackson is just content to waste time from the top position. Hines takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Hines is keeping the position.
Hines keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully.

Jackson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hines really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Hines tries a head kick but it misses.
Jackson wants to counter the offense by Hines and move into the clinch position.
Hines takes one on the chin but seems OK.

It looks like Carmen Hines has been cut.
Jackson avoids the head kick by Hines.
Jackson tries to counter with a clinch but Hines shakes him off and moves away.
Jackson looks for a takedown but Hines sprawls well.
Jackson fails to land the takedown.
Jackson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hines feinted with a counter takedown.
Carmen Hines has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Red Jackson.

Hines plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Hines tries a head kick but it misses.

and Jackson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jackson.
Jackson lands an elbow just above Hines 's eye.

Jackson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Hines has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Jackson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Jackson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jackson shoots in but no luck this time.
Red Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Jackson finds it's way through Hines's defenses.

Jackson moves into the clinch.

Hines drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Jackson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hines wants to take the fight to the mat but Jackson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Hines trying to control the position but instead, Jackson has worked for underhooks and has pushed Hines into the cage.
Jackson jerks Hines's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Hines drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Jackson goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Jackson because Hines was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
