Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Mazepin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Christov Yanovich!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yanovich throws a head kick that misses.
Yanovich buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Yanovich closes the distance and clinches.

Yanovich pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Yanovich.
Yanovich lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Yanovich lands a damaging elbow.


It looks like Fedor Mazepin has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yanovich's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Yanovich misses with a body shot.
Mazepin wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mazepin shoots in but no luck this time.
Yanovich will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mazepin drops down looking for a counter takedown but Yanovich sprawls and moves away.
Yanovich gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Mazepin counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Yanovich!

Mazepin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mazepin is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Yanovich is trying to escape and Mazepin transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Yanovich is forced to tap! Nice work there by Mazepin! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Fedor Mazepin!
