Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodger Yalning (ranked 5134 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thanasis Kon (ranked 5538 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thanasis Kon!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Yalning is trying to defend but Kon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Kon should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Kon slips a nice elbow through Yalning's hands, connecting with Yalning's forehead.
Kon thows a huge punch but Yalning dodges it nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yalning manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Kon keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Kon has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Yalning after a bit of a struggle.
Kon wants a takedown.

Yalning pulls guard effortlessly.
Kon postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Yalning will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Yalning utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Yalning has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Yalning's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Yalning has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Kon is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Kon has eaten all the pies!
Kon drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Yalning gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Kon has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Yalning is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Yalning jumps guard and drags Kon to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Yalning leaves Kon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Kon closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Yalning's guard.

Yalning manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Yalning tries to bum rush Kon with a series of wild strikes but Kon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Yalning thuds a left hand into Kon's body.
Yalning lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kon backs up against the cage.

Kon gets a double leg takedown into Yalning's guard.

Yalning kicks Kon off and gets to his feet.

Kon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Yalning looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kon closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Yalning quickly recovers to half guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Yalning enables Kon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Yalning manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Yalning manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kon drops down looking for an ankle pick but Yalning pulls his leg out and moves away.

Thanasis Kon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
