Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kasey Haynes (ranked 6010 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bart Brick (ranked 5057 p4p, 0 weight class). Brick has chosen Move as his entrance music. Bart Brick is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kasey Haynes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bart Brick!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haynes dives in and grabs Brick's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brick pushes down on Haynes's head and hops out.

Haynes forces Brick back against the cage and clinches.

Brick's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Brick lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Haynes shoots in for a takedown but Brick shows good takedown defense.
Brick throws a right and a left that Haynes avoids nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Haynes walks into a left hand.

Brick clinches with his opponent.
Haynes content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Haynes seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Brick gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Brick is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Haynes sees it coming and defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brick is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Brick wants to pass the guard but Haynes is defending well.

Haynes has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brick is working away from the top position though.

Brick is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Haynes to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Brick stops Haynes from getting back to his feet.
Haynes holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brick is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Haynes is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Haynes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Haynes wants to control but Brick is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Brick seems to be looking for submissions.
Brick trying to control the action but Haynes is working from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Brick trying to control from Haynes's half guard. Haynes has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Brick wants to control from the top but Haynes keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Haynes misses with a takedown

and Brick counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Brick.
Haynes tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Brick has clasped his hands together around Haynes's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Haynes tries to buck Brick off but Brick is having none of it.

Brick is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Haynes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Brick.

Brick is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Brick stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Haynes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Haynes wants to sweep but no luck.
Brick wants to control from the top but Haynes keeps moving.

Brick drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Haynes dives on top into guard.

Brick looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Haynes throws a strike but Brick rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Haynes wants to get back to his feet but Brick is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Haynes keeping moving, preventing Brick from controlling successfully.
Brick looking to sit in guard and control but Haynes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Haynes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Haynes chips away with some ground and pound.
Brick bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Haynes's guard.

Brick looking to sit in guard and control but Haynes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Brick pulls Haynes in close to his closed guard and prevents Haynes from doing any damage or advancing position.

Brick lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Bart Brick showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Brick throws the left hand but Haynes avoids the punch easily.

Brick keeps the fight on the outside.

Haynes will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Brick ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Brick lands with a hook. Haynes tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Brick doesn't manage to clinch there - Haynes circles away.
Haynes doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Brick counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Brick looks to score with a jab to the body but Haynes is just out of range.
Brick has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Haynes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Brick manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Brick raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Brick misses with a wild body shot.
Haynes shoots in looking for a takedown. Brick tries to sprawl out of it but Haynes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Brick manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Brick looks to score with a jab to the body but Haynes is just out of range.
Haynes checks the leg kick nicely there.
Haynes throws a half hearted mid kick.

Brick drives through and clinches with Haynes against the cage.

Brick is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Haynes can't fight it off and eventually Brick manages to take the fight to the floor. Haynes looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Brick thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Brick postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Haynes is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Brick, into his guard.

Brick not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Brick wants to sweep here but Haynes controlling him for the moment.
Brick is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Brick working over Haynes with some ground and pound. Haynes looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Haynes gets back to full guard.

Brick is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Haynes is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Haynes has escaped and now he's on top!


Haynes stands up and waves to Brick to follow him.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bart Brick comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Brick has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
